Who We are
HungerZero is a ACNC approved charity. It was set up by a small team committed to help people who are suffering financial hardship or experiencing sudden mishap in life, such as unemployment, sickness, death of beloved, separation, etc.
From a humble beginning at the home base garage, HungerZero has since then moved to a warehouse at North Rocks to support its core part of food distribution functions. In 2021, we begin to add on more programs to further strengthen our charity purpose. We are supported by a lot of enthusiastic volunteers who have the hearts to dedicate their valuable time, energy and every efforts to contribute to the community.
We are ATO approved charity eligible for issuing Deductible Gift Receipts (DGR) for any donation over $2 in Australia.
Lending a Helping Hand
We are a small team BUT
We have a big mission to fulfil. We aim to use our passion and compassion
to help those in need in the community
I am a typical Gemini romantic dream seeker, who have the passion and compassion especially towards those disadvantaged. No matter how tough life the real world is, I always believe Romain Rolland's motto "There is only one heroism in the world: to see the world as it is and to love it".
I was born in China and lived in various Chinese cities before moving to Sydney. She lost her dad when she was 12 with his dad having terminal cancer. With 4 kids to raise, her mom had deep depression and the whole family could barely afford food and rent. Peggy knew what hunger was when she needed to spend less than $10 for 3 meals a day. She was fortunate enough to graduate from university with political degree but could hardly forget how she struggled between life, work and study more than 20 years ago. In 2006, Peggy was lucky to move to Sydney to live a new life. She has had more than 15 year of work experiences in marketing, public relations, administration and financial sectors. She loves to interact with people from all walks of life. She is passionate, a dream seeker who is full of compassion. Her leisure activities include volunteering, swimming, travelling, music, arts and absolutely a foodie!
In the sea, I am a grain of sand
I am hidden in the vast sea of people. I am ordinary, but I am enterprising, have watery dreams, and have lofty ideals, I firmly believe that "love" is everywhere
I am humorous and tolerant. I always don't like to look at other people's faces, I think the smiles of others are the most beautiful scenery in the world. So every day, I will become pistachio and bring them joy as much as possible
I, be myself be yourself. see the real me take out twelve points of confidence, and tell yourself " I am me, a different kind of firework"
I am aggressive. have the courage to face the difficulties and setbacks in life, and often influence and guide the people around them with a positive and optimistic attitude in life, giving them the power to open their hearts, yong yun believes that tomorrow will be better!
The sea is boundless, the sea of people is boundless, I am just a drop of water in the universe, a blade of grass, a grain of sand.
But the droplets merge into the sea, the grass dots the plain, and the fine sand draws a beautiful landscape for the beautiful beach, I believe I can contribute to my team, contribute a piece of strength.
I was born in Samoa. He moved to Australia when he was 10 years old. Having grown up in Mt Druitt, he deeply understood how poverty could shape a person's life. Lucky he had a strict dad who was working as a pastor and he didn't walk the wrong path. Amani started to learn business by opening his first restaurant "A taste of Pollywood" in 2006. He then opened a car wash and another security business in the same area. Later in life, he travelled back to Samoa for good so as to be close to the family. He realised that there's so much to do to help with the island's economic growth by using his business knowledge and skills.
Before having the idea of HungerZero, Amani had worked in another food charity which he gained lots of experiences with first hand connections with various food charities. During leisure times, Amani loves reading and he welcomes open discussions about any philosophy in life. He also loves travelling to different countries to explore different cultures.
